The Melograno Oil & Vinegar Cruets are 8 inches wide and 6 inches tall. The rich blues and apricot color of this pomegranate motif reflect the region of Umbria where the Alcantara collection is made (one of the most well known areas in Italy for hand made ceramics). This collection is from a small family factory in a hill town near Assisi which has been making ceramics for generations. The family has developed its own process for finishing the pottery where after each piece is completed, it is dipped in a clear coat and then high fired for a third time, adding a beautiful shine to the brightly colored ceramics. Traditionally, Italian ceramics are only high fired twice; a third firing adds extra protection and strength. This hand-painted piece is food and dishwasher safe.
